Overview
A course designed to help elevator personnel strengthen their knowledge of and understand the latest elevator regulations as adopted in California by the Occupational Safety and Health Standards Board. Major course topics include:
- law development
- regulation development
- Occupational Safety and Health Standards Board and Office of Administrative Law procedures
- breakdown of the Elevator Safety Orders
Special Feature:
There will be a specific focus on Limited Use/Limited Access Elevators as compared to the California Special Access Elevator and A18 Devices (Vertical and Inclined Platform Lifts and Inclined Stairway Stair Lifts).
Course Objectives:
Upon completion of this course participants will have the ability to:
Understand the development of laws and regulations in California as related to elevators
Understand the organization of the Elevator Safety Orders
Understand the code requirements related to Limited Use/Limited Access Elevators
Understand the code requirements related to Vertical and Inclined Platform Lifts, and Inclined Stairway Stair Lifts
Instructional Hours:
This course will be presented during one eight-hour session of eight contact hours.
Who Should Attend:
This course is designed for conveyance personnel, including access industry personnel, elevator mechanics, elevator inspectors, elevator consultants, elevator engineers, elevator office supervisors and other conveyance office personnel.
Certificate of Completion:
A certificate of completion for eight contact hours will be issued to each participant who successfully completes the course.
